FAQs

What is the difference between a Safe Harbour AML check and an AML Lite check?

A Safe Harbour check uses biometric facial recognition and NFC chip-reading to verify identity to HM Land Registry's Digital ID standard - providing the highest level of assurance and protecting your firm from liability. An AML Lite check is a faster, lower-cost option using data and image checks, suitable for lower-risk clients where the full Safe Harbour standard is not required.

Is Verify365 accepted by the SRA?

Yes. Verify365's Safe Harbour checks are designed to meet SRA guidance on client due diligence and HM Land Registry's Digital ID standard. Your firm retains a full audit trail for regulatory review

How does the source of funds check work?

Verify365's source of funds check uses FCA-regulated Open Banking technology to access a client's live transaction and balance data directly from their bank — covering over 4,000 banks worldwide. The client authenticates via their own banking app, and Verify365 produces a verified report. No manual bank statement uploads are needed.

Does my client need to download an app?

If you are requesting your client to complete a Safe Harbour AML then your client will need to download the Verify365 app in order for your clients smartphone to complete the chip-reading verification on their passport. If you have requested your client to complete a Lite-Check then they will not need to download the app, instead they will be able to complete the AML check within the browser (Google Chrome, Safari, Microsoft Edge etc).
